SAF-EVAC™ in use
Feb. 19, 2010 Life Labs in British Columbia ordered SAF-EVAC™, for use with Abbott’s I-Stat device, for testing Olympian’s blood. More than 400 blood tests are expected to be taken during the Olympics. SAF-EVAC™ is an economical tool that limits technologist’s exposure to blood samples. It prevents the splashing of blood normally associated with the uncapping of evacuated sampling tubes. The device allows laboratory personnel to dispense whole anti coagulated blood from the tube one drop at a time without removal of the stopper.
